MJ Empowerment Student Wellbeing Officer
- Provide non-threatening, confidential and non-judgement support to students that is strengths-based and solution focused.
- Help facilitate appropriate and timely referrals to other support programs and agencies as required.
- Support students and their wider community to develop resilience and improve social and emotional wellbeing.
- Support for students to connect with professional staff within the school such as school nurse, school psychologist.
- Outreach to disengaged students and their families.
- Facilitation of school wellbeing workshops or programs such as healthy relationships, healthy lifestyles, mental wellbeing, cyber and personal safety and for older students- independent living skills, sexual health, consent and relationships, conflict resolution and setting boundaries.
- Supports the school to create a learning environment that enables the students to be healthy, happy engaged and successful.
- Will establish ongoing communication and positive relationships with students, peers and external contacts to ensure students are provided with the best possible support and guidance through one-to-one appointments, or drop-in sessions.
